Bob Koenig, 84 - June 28, 2015

Robert “Bob” C. Koenig, 84, of Brady passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, with the Rev. Bob Allen officiating at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors.
Koenig was born Aug. 17, 1930, to Tom and Stella (Beaver) Koenig at Gering.
He graduated from Maxwell High School with the Class of 1949.
In 1951, he joined the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1953.
On July 17, 1954, he was united in marriage to Doris J. Hopkins at North Platte. To this union, three daughters were born.
Koenig was employed with the State of Nebraska as a gas transporter.
On Aug. 17, 2009, he married Lucille Whipple at Gothenburg. The couple later moved to Brady.
He was a member of the American Legion and loved horses, according to family members.
?Koenig was preceded in death by: his parents; Tom and Stella; his first wife, Doris in 2008; a granddaughter, Alexis.
?Survivors include: his wife, Lucille of Brady; his three daughters—Deb (Bill) Dugger of Kearney, and Betty Lewin and Carol Koenig, both of Omaha; step-daughter, Barbara Hotz of Gothenburg; three sisters—Virginia Bailey, Donna (Dean) Kittle and Patty Mentzer; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; other extended family members.
A memorial has been established.
