Robert DeMilt, Sr., 55 - January 21, 2009

Robert Warren DeMilt, Sr., 55, of Gothenburg died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Faith Chapel of Gothenburg. Burial will take place at a later date.
DeMilt was born on May 18, 1953, to Clair and Marcedes “Susie” (Hubbard) DeMilt at North Platte. He attended school and later graduated from Brady High School.
He had received a bachelor’s degree in education and an associates degree in accounting.
DeMilt had spent most of his childhood in Brady and then moved to Gothenburg. He resided the last 14 years in the McCook and Cambridge area and recently moved back to Gothenburg.
He was united in marriage to Patty Wing at Gothenburg in 1973. The couple were married for 20 years. He later married Cheryl Schultz in 1995 at North Platte.
DeMilt was the superintendent and teacher of the Sunday School program at McCook. He was also a mentor at the Evangelical Free Church of McCook.
He was a member of the Brady Lions Club and attended Faith Chapel of Gothenburg.
DeMilt loved music, cars and Celtic basketball, according to family members. He also enjoyed Rocky and Steven Seagal movies as well as collecting Bibles.
?He was preceded in death by: his son, Robert Warren DeMilt, Jr.; his father, Clair DeMilt; a brother, Gerry Hoaglund; grandmother, Ora Hubbard.
?Survivors include; his daughter, Tamara (Robert) Palmer of Brady; his sons—Tobias DeMilt of Maxwell, Joseph (Becky) DeMilt of Omaha, Joshua DeMilt of Tempe, AZ, and Daniel (Molly) DeMilt of Kearney; his mother, Susie Hoaglund of Gothenburg; sisters—Barb Longsine of Gunthrie, OK, and Pam Koss of North Platte; brothers—John (Monica) Hoaglund of North Platte and Randy Hoaglund of Lincoln; nine grandchildren.
