Lester Jobman, 93 - May 10, 2016

Lester Ruben Jobman, 93, of Gothenburg died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Memorial services took place at the American Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 14, with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. A private interment will be conducted at a later date at the Gothenburg American Lutheran Cemetery.
Jobman was born July 28, 1922, north of Gothenburg, son of Peter and Emma (Poggendorf) Jobman. He grew up north of Gothenburg on a family farm.
He married Frances Block on Dec. 16, 1951, at Christ Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union, three children were born.
Jobman was a life-long farmer and rancher as well as a Pioneer seed salesman.
He was a member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, and was an active member of the American Lutheran Church.
Jobman enjoyed baseball, softball and bowling along with sports in general and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in school activities, according to family members. He was also a devoted card player and enjoyed billiards and square dancing.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Peter and Emma; his son, Matt Jobman; brothers—Paul and Alfred Jobman; sisters—Dorothy Wright and Lorene Stevens, son-in-law, Roger Morris; a granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth Jobman.
Survivors include: his wife Frances Jobman of Gothenburg; a son, Terry (Nancy) Jobman of Gothenburg; his daughter, Heidi Jobman of Chappell, daughter-in-law, Charlotte Jobman of Gothenburg; grandchildren—Andrew (Rebecca) Jobman and David (Jana) Jobman, all of Gothenburg, Erin Jobman of Manhatten, KS, Christopher Morris of Kansas City, KS, and Erica Jobman of Sidney; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church.
