Marlene DeCamp, 81 - October 20, 2016

Marlene DeCamp, 81, of Gothenburg passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at her daughter’s home Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at the American Lutheran Church on Monday, Oct. 24, with the Revs. Jon Mapa and Mark Borchardt officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at the Peckham Cemetery.
DeCamp was born April 12, 1935, at Lisco, the daughter of Henry and Lillian E. (Frerichs) Jobman.
She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1953.
On Nov. 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Kenneth DeCamp at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg.
DeCamp was employed as a secretary for the superintendent at Gothenburg High School for 31 years.
She also taught aerobics and loved playing bridge, which she took very serious and enjoyed winning, according to family members.
DeCamp was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Lillian; her husband, Kenneth; a son, Kim DeCamp.
?Survivors include: her daughters—Kami (John) Brandt of Ogallala and Kressy (Ross) Ristine of Gothenburg; a sister, Diane (Ted) Gaudreault of Gothenburg; three grandchildren—Blake Ristine, Jessica (Charlie) Kafka and Quinn (Jacob) Murphy; four great-grandchildren—William, Amelia and Benjamin Kafka and Scarlet Murphy; long-time loyal friend, Patricia Thompson of Gothenburg; numerous extended family members.
