Lois Baalhorn, 86 - December 07, 2016

Lois K. Baalhorn, 86, of Cozad passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg.
Services took place on Monday, Dec. 12, at the American Lutheran Church with Kathy Gundell, PMA, and the Rev. David Boyd officiating. Burial was at the Cozad Cemetery.
Baalhorn was born April 17, 1930, near Cozad, to Ted and Rena (Thayer) Gill. She grew up on a family farm northeast of Cozad, where she helped her parents with farm and house work.
She graduated from Cozad High School with the Class of 1948.
On June 6, 1948, she married Dean Baalhorn at the Cozad Christian Church. To this union, two children were born.
Baalhorn was a devoted wife and mother, taking the children with her everywhere she went, from helping her husband on the farm to taking care of their home, according to family members.
When her children were grown, she became an Avon representative where she worked for more than 25 years.
?She moved to Stone Hearth Estates at Gothenburg in December of 2013 after her husband passed away.
?Baalhorn was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Cozad.
?She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ted and Rena; her husband, Dean; a brother, Larry Gill.
Survivors include: her daughter, Cindy (Mark) Peyton of Gothenburg; her son, Dahlas (Marilyn) Baalhorn of Lincoln; grandsons—Reece and Alex Peyton, Brett Baalhorn and Riley (Anna Butierres) Baalhorn; two great-grandchildren—Emilia Peyton and Isaac Baalhorn; sister-in-law, Jan Gill of Gothenburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
