Frances Clark, 94 - December 23, 2016

Frances Marie Vobejda Clark, 94, of Gothenburg passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Gothenburg Health.
Services will be conducted at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 2:30 p.m. with Lonna Grabenstein officiating. Burial will be at the Peckham Cemetery at Gothenburg.
A visitation will take place at the American Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 1 to 8 p.m. with family members present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Clark was born Oct. 13, 1922, to Robert and Lydia (Stefek) Vobejda at Hettinger, ND. She lived with her parents and brothers, Bill, George, Harvey and Vernon at Lodgepole, SD.
She attended a country grade school near Lodgepole and graduated from Hettinger High School in 1940. She then attended Black Hills Teacher’s College in Spearfish SD, and taught school in Phillip, SD, and Brentford, SD. She was pleased that so many of her family members have followed in her footsteps, according to family members.
On Sept. 10, 1946, she married Roger Robert Clark at Denver, CO. To this union, six children were born. She and her husband had farmed 12 miles southwest of Gothenburg since 1946.
Family was extremely important to her and she attended 50 years of Gothenburg student activities for her children and grandchildren, the family stated. She was also an avid Husker fan, and a loyal member of Union Aid and the VFW.
?Clark was preceded in death by: her husband, Roger; her parents, Robert and Lydia; an infant son, Douglas Jay; a grandson, Jason Douglas; her brother, William (Bill) Vobejda; sisters-in-law—Betty Weiss, Betty Lou Clark, Virginia Vobejda and Gloria Vobejda; brothers-in-law—Dale Clark and Van Clark.
Survivors include: her children—Carol (Joseph) Adams of Lincoln, Alan (Cecily) Clark of Cozad, Bruce (Joyce) Clark, Dennis (Mary Lou) Clark, David (Deb) Clark and Jim (Mary) Clark, all of Gothenburg; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers—George Vobejda of Overland Park, KS, Harvey (Darlene) Vobejda of Grand Rapids, MN, and Vernon (Jarla) Vobejda of Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law, Glen Weiss of Greeley, CO; sister-in-law, Ardith Clark of Brady; numerous nieces and nephews.
