Diana Vannier, 66 - March 04, 2017

Diana J. Vannier, 66, formerly of Gothenburg, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Lincoln.
Services were conducted on Saturday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. Burial was at the Minden Cemetery.
A visitation will take place at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Friday, March 10, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Vannier was born Feb. 4, 1951, at Genoa, to Aaron and Clara Farmer. She was baptized at the EBU church in Monroe.
She moved to Minden with her family, where she was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church and graduated from Minden High School. She later graduated from Grand Island Business School.
On April 4, 1970, she married Lonnie Vannier. To this union, two sons were born. The couple resided at Gothenburg.
Vannier was a caring, strong matriarch for the family, as they relocated several times over the years, according to family members. She was an amazing and loving wife and mother.
She served as a den mother, helping in classrooms and filling the role of Luther League Sponsors.
?In addition to her dedication to her family, she also served as a bookkeeper and finance manager for several car dealerships during her life.
?Vannier also loved dogs and enjoyed trips to see the Sandhill cranes, the family said.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Aaron and Clara Farmer; her father and mother-in-law, Don and Gloria Vannier.
Survivors include: her husband, Lonnie; her sons—Jameson (fiancé Kerry) and Darby (Erica); two granddaughters—Breanna Hiner and Bianca Vannier; a brother, Jerry (Charlene) Farmer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law—Scott and Deb Johnson and Mike and Tami Ellis; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
