Rebecca Bartels, 33 - March 14, 2017

Rebecca “Becky” Nichole Bartels, 33, of Brady passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, as the result of an auto accident.
Services were conducted at the Brady School on Tuesday, March 21, with Lonna Grabenstein officiating. Interment was at the Brady Gaslin Cemetery.
Bartels was born July 13, 1983, at North Platte, to Harlan and Kathleen Stevens. She was baptized at Svea Dal Church near Brady and confirmed at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg.
She attended school in Brady and Gothenburg, graduating in 2002. While in high school, she was a member of FFA and was crowned Homecoming queen. She also played basketball and volleyball.
While living in Brady, she met Jeremy Bartels. The couple were married on Aug. 8, 2008. They resided at Brady where they were raising their two girls, Harley and Preslee.
Bartels went on to help coach elementary girls basketball and volleyball teams, and was a member of a pool league.
She had worked numerous places, but two stood out, as she enjoyed her job preparing food at the Gothenburg Senior Center for 10 years, where she made countless friends and memories, according to family members. She then took a job as a cook at the Hitchin’ Post in Brady where she was employed until her death.
Bartels enjoyed flower arranging, gardening, canning, fishing, camping, and most of all cooking, said the family.
?She was preceded in death by: her father, Harlan Stevens; her husband, Jeremy Bartels; brother-in-law, Jason Bartels; grandparents—Orvin and Lorene Stevens, Ed and Luella Stevens, Robert and Ruth Kruse; a nephew, Mickale Rosner; niece, Leyha Bartels.
?Survivors include: her parents, Ken and Barb Stevens, Kathleen and Gary Pfleider; her daughters—Harley and Preslee; a sister, LaDonna (Jeff) Brock of Gothenburg and their sons—Ty and Saraid (Brinlye), Dade and Dakin; sisters—Jolene (Chris) Morris of Cozad (Alyssa, Morgan and Elias), Tiffiny (Melissa) Stevens of Westminster, CO (Alec, Emily and Ian) and Kari (Jeff) Perry of Polk (Brandie); brothers—Jeremyah Stevens of Cozad (Justin and Jaya), Darby (Beth) Stevens of Brady (Mariah, Jayden, Ashton, Hunter, Kennedi) and Patrick (Brittany) Stevens of Kearney (Adyn and Adyson); special friends—Kara Johnson, Molly Miller, Chelsey Dennis, Catie McNew and Gena Brown.
Memorials are suggested to Ken and Barb Stevens/LaDonna and Jeff Brock for designation to her daughters.
