Shirley Aden, 86 - August 20, 2017

Shirley Aden, 86, of Gothenburg passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at Gothenburg Health.
Services took place at the American Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Interment was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Aden was born to James and Lila (Barnes) France on Feb. 20, 1930, at Gothenburg. She attended school and graduated from Gothenburg High School.
She received an educational degree from Kearney State College.
On June 17, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Roger Aden. She taught school while he was in the service, teaching for 25 years in Dawson County.
After her husband returned from the service, they moved to the Aden farm/ranch south of Farnam where they lived for 38 years and raised their four children.
In 1988, she and her husband moved to Gothenburg and retired soon after.
Aden enjoyed her church, her family and teaching, according to family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Lila (Barnes) France; a granddaughter, Kendra Leigh Aden; grandson, Jason Douglas Clark; brothers—Max France (Opal and Glenda) and Milford (Yvonne) France; brother-in-law, Larry Peterson.
?Survivors include: her husband, Roger Aden; her children—Kent (Sue) Aden of Cozad, Mary Lou (Dennis) Clark of Gothenburg, Matthew (Ann) Aden of Farnam and Michael (Joy) Aden of Littleton, CO; a sister, Carolyn Peterson; 10 grandchildren—Mandy (Doug) Abbott, Ashley (Jay) Fuller, Jamion (Tasia) Aden, Kaitlyn Clark, Joshua Clark, Scott (Audrey) Aden, Jared (Molly) Aden, Derek (Jordan) Aden, Claire Aden and Luke Aden; 11 great-grandchildren—Rachel, Tyler, Jayleigh, Katie, Addison, Rugor, Rider, Tanner and Rhakenna, Kye.
