Raymond Klein, 83 - August 28, 2017

Raymond L. Klein, 83, of Trenton, formerly of Farnam and Bartley, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Services were conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 31, with Greg Boller officiating. Interment was at the Farnam Cemetery.
Klein was born Feb. 27, 1934, at Farnam, the son of Louis and Nona (Hayworth) Klein.
On Aug. 25, 1951, he married Arlene Toberer. To this union, five children were born.
He farmed and ranched in the Farnam area and sold seed for NC+ Seed Company for several years. In the early 1990s, he moved to Bartley where he was employed at the UAP fertilizer plant where he sprayed for clients around the area.
Klein enjoyed hunting and trapshooting, going snowmobiling, heading to the mountains and playing cards, according to family members. He also loved his horses and cattle.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Louis and Nona; a sister, Ruth Klein; brothers—Russel and Ross Klein; a grandson, Tony Klein; great-granddaughter, Audrey Ann Klein.
?Surviving include: his sons—Gary (Dianne) Klein and Rod (Marla) Klein, all of Farnam, Brent (Bev) Klein of McCook and Jeff (Dee) Klein of Maywood; his daughter, Carla (Tony) Boots of North Platte; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; an aunt, Darlene Klooz; numerous extended family members.
Memorials are suggested to the Farnam Fire Department and the El Dorado Manor Nursing Home in Trenton.
