Virginia Wareham, 84 - November 19, 2008
Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Parkview United Methodist Church of Cozad with the Rev. Jaime Farias officiating. Burial took place at the Peckham Cemetery southwest of Gothenburg.
Wareham was born June 22, 1924, at Gothenburg to Fred and Vinnie (Sheridan) DeCamp. She graduated from Gothenburg High School.
On Sept. 1, 1950, she was united in marriage to Samuel D. Wareham. Following their marriage, her husband was recalled to the U.S. Air Force to serve in Korea. She had made her home at Gothenburg until her husband’s return from the war.
As a military family, the couple made their home at several locations including London, England, for many years.
Upon her husband’s retirement in 1971, the couple moved to Omaha and then lived in North Platte and Lincoln before moving to Cozad in 1998, where they lived until her husband’s health brought them back to Lincoln.
?Wareham was a member of the Parkview United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
?Some of her greatest enjoyments in her life were her dogs, according to family members.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers—Kenny and Keith DeCamp; a sister at infancy, Henrietta.
Survivors include: her husband, Samuel Wareham of Lincoln; two sons—Shane Wareham of Denver, CO, and Scott (Deborah) Wareham of Lincoln.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
