Ruby Price, 97 - September 17, 2008
Ruby L. Price, 97, of Cozad, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Cozad.
Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel at Cozad with the Rev. Lyle Schoen and Elder Thomas E. Bond officiating. Burial took place at the Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad.
Price was born on April 8, 1911, in a sod house north of Brady to Arthur and Lula (White) Callahan. During her youth, she lived in the Brady, Sutherland, Hershey and North Platte areas and attended Hershey High School.
On April 5, 1930, she was united in marriage to Elden E. Price at Stockville. To this union, a daughter was born in 1931.
In 1938, the family moved to a farm site north of Cozad and in 1983 they moved to Cozad.
She was employed as a cook at the Buffalo Café and the Oasis Café and worked for Peterson’s Locker in Gothenburg.
Price and her husband were members of the Sandhill Campers Chapter and the Nebraska Association of Earth Science Clubs, Inc., where she served as president for two and one-half years. She had also served on the Cozad Grand Generation Board and was a member of the Methodist Church since 1927.
She enjoyed time her family, her grandchildren and her grand-dog, Spike, as well as enjoying rock hunting, cooking, camping, gardening, croqueting, quilting and many kinds of crafts, according to family members.
?Price was preceded in death by: her husband, Elden in 1996; two brothers, a sister and a nephew; six brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
?Survivors include: her daughter, Bonnie (LaVern) Rinehart of Cozad; three grandchildren—Larry (Karen) of Albion, Lynn (Teresa) of Imperial and LaVay of Cozad; four great-grandchildren—Jeremy (Jennifer) Rinehart of Lincoln, Kayla (Kyle) Sharp of Ft. Leonardwood, MO, Lucas Rinehart of McCook and Lynsey Rinehart of Lincoln; two great-great-granddaughters—Amaya and Madee; two step-grandchildren—Angie (Troy) Gilbert and Cori (Korey) Zoubec, all of Albion; five step great-great-grandchildren—Dylan, Jayce, Jordan, Kirstian and Jacob; a sister, Ada Newby of Aurora, CO; two sisters-in-law—Zada Price of North Platte and Helen Price of Harvard; several nieces and nephews; numerous other family members and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Cozad Grand Generation Center.
