Ronald Brockevelt, 58 - December 26, 2007
Ronald Morris Brockevelt, 58, of Gothenburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services were held on Friday, Dec. 21, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg with the Rev. Donald O’Brien officiating.
Brockevelt was born on Feb. 4, 1949, to Ernest and Margaret (Timms) Brockevelt at David City. He grew up at Polk, attending the Polk Public Schools and graduating from Polk High School.
After high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served his country from Dec. 9, 1968, until July 11, 1972.
He had worked as a truck driver for almost 30 years and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping or just enjoying the fresh air, according to family members.
Brockevelt also enjoyed cars, mostly, hot rods and stock car racing, but the most important thing to him was his family and friends, enjoying spending as much time with them as he could and morning coffee with his buddies was a must, said family members.
?He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Margaret Brockevelt.
?Survivors include: his two sons—William and Nick, both of Gothenburg; his daughter, Shala (Chuck) Kello of Greeley, CO; three brothers—Rich (Pat) Brockevelt of Polk, Robert (Barb) Brockevelt of Vermillion, SD, and Roger Brockevelt of Denver, CO; a grandchild, Harlan Morris Brockevelt of Gothenburg.
