Doris Keiser, 86 - October 24, 2007


Doris M Keiser, 86, of Gothenburg, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Gothenburg.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg with the Rev. Matthew Groenke and Lonna Grabenstien, PMA, officiating. Burial will take place at the American Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
Keiser was born on July 22, 1921, at Gothenburg to Chris and Caroline (Duis) Gronewold. She graduated from Gothenburg High School and lived her entire life in Gothenburg.
Following graduation, she taught in rural schools for two years.
She was united in marriage to Donald Keiser on May 27, 1945, at Gothenburg. To this union four daughters were born—Jeanine, Linda, Sandra and Susan.
Keiser was a member of the American Lutheran Church, the American Lutheran Church Women, ladies’ circles and the ALC quilters group.
She enjoyed her flower garden, playing bridge, refinishing antique picture frames and baking, according to family members.
Keiser was preceded in death by: her parents, Chris and Caroline; husband, Don in 1966; three sisters—Linda, Laura and Jewel; two brothers—Bill and Ted.
?Survivors include: her four daughters—Jeanine (Dave) Kline of Gothenburg, Linda (Douglas) McHenry of Hampton, Sandra (Craig) Parsons of Crystal Lake, IL, and Susan (Richard) DePasquale of Fairport, NY; 10 grandchildren—Mitch (Elsa) Kline of Commerce City, CO, Jason (Megan) Kline of Littleton, CO, Chris Kline of Sidney, Michelle McHenry of Grand Island, Korey McHenry of Hampton, Jillian Parsons and Lane Parsons of Crystal Lake, Anthony DePasquale of Japan, Daniel DePasquale and Mary DePasquale of Fairport; four great-grandchildren—Cadence, Camden, Izabella and Ruby Kline.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church and the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Foundation.
