George Hueftle, 65 - March 28, 2007

George G. Hueftle, 65, of Brady, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Brady.
Services were held on Saturday, March 24, at the Brady High School gymnasium. Burial was at the Gaslin Cemetery.
Hueftle was born on Dec. 5, 1941, to Earl and Almina (Francis) Hueftle at Eustis. He spent his childhood in Eustis and graduated from Eustis High School in 1960.
He married Yvonne Anderson on Oct. 20, 1963, at Gothenburg and spent his married life in Brady. He was a farmer/rancher and had retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.
Hueftle was active as a scout leader, belonged to the Brady Volunteer Fire Department, helped as an assistant basketball coach and as a referee for high school as well as college basketball and football games.
He also served as an EMT, Brady School Board member and a member of Church of Christ and service as past deacon.
Hueftle enjoyed being a grandfather and a father as well as hunting, fishing and sports, as he was playing city league basketball, according to family members.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Earl and Almina; a son, Brad; brother, Arlus; three sisters—Cleo Losey, Gwen Johnson and Carol Hueftle.
?Survivors include: his wife of 44 years, Yvonne Hueftle of Brady; a son, Monte (fiance, JoAnn) of North Platte; daughter-in-law, Heidi Barrett; four grandchildren—Cane, Eli, Aidan and Caitlin Hueftle; sisters-in-law—Dorene Hoffman of McCook, Janice (Dick) Sprague of North Platte and Carolyn Anderson of Mesa, AZ; brothers-in-law—Tom Losey of Republican City, Corky Hayes, Kent (Pat) Anderson and Roger (Sandy) Anderson, both of Brady, and Lyle McCarter of North Platte; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Jonny Rupe of Holdrege.
A memorial has been established.
