Robert Hardnock, 75 - February 21, 2007

Robert Lyle (Bob) Hardnock, 75, formerly of Gothenburg, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at Grove, OK.
Services will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse Foursquare Church at North Platte, where he was a member for several years. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be available from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Hardnock was born to Henry and Lyle Shanks Hardnock on Nov. 24, 1931, in Grand Island, where he received his education.
He entered the United States Air Force in 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1952.
On Nov. 29, 1953, he married Joyce Loraine Clayton at Grand Island. To this union, four daughters were born. He and his wife moved to North Platte from Grand Island in 1973 and, in 1993, moved to Gothenburg.
Hardnock retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1991, after 38 years of service as a conductor. In 2003, He and his family moved to Grove, OK.
He had accepted Jesus as his savior at an early age and lived his life for Jesus, family members said. He enjoyed being with his wife and his girls. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his work shop.
?Hardnock was a member of the River Church at Grove.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Henry and Lyle; a great grandson, Steven Robert Schoel.
?Survivors include: his wife, Joyce of 53 years; four daughters—twins, Sharon (Paul) Ruckman and Karen (the Rev. Wesley) Schoel, all of Grove, Sandra (Stanley) Fisher of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kathryn (James) Thornton of North Platte; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Jean) Hardnock of Midland, TX; two sisters—Joan Johnson and Carolyn (William) Eacker, all of Colorado Springs; brother-in-law, Richard (Joyce) Clayton of Hawthorne, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the family or the Alzheimer’s Association.
