Sylvia Beza, 76 - July 01, 2009
Sylvia “Janice” Beza, 76, of Fremont, formerly of Gothenburg, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Services were held on Friday, June 26, at Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont with the Rev. Greg Eall of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial took place at the Craig Cemetery.
Beza was born March 23, 1933, at Gothenburg to William and Lena (Armitage) Youree. She grew up at Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School.
She was united in marriage to Clifford L. “Mick” Beza on Sept. 19, 1959, at Littleton, CO.
Beza resided at Scottsbluff and other Nebraska towns until moving to Fremont in 1966. In 1968, she moved to California and then to Sioux Falls, SD, before moving to Craig where she lived for two years, then returning to Fremont. She was employed as a waitress at area restaurants.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fremont, the United Methodist Women, American Legion Post No. 0127 Auxiliary at Craig, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary at Fremont.
?Beza was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Lena; her husband, Clifford “Mick” on May 18, 2000; a sister, Frances Preitauer; three brothers—Lynn, Mordant “M.C.” and Barnard Youree.
Survivors include: her son, Layne Beza of Wayne; a brother, Delbert (Pauline) Youree of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law, Virginia Youree of Avondale, AZ; five grandchildren; special friend, Mary “Mouse” Lewis of Fremont.
A memorial has been established and suggested to the family.
