Barbara Rich, 78 - February 05, 2012
Barbara F. Rich, 78, of Willamina, OR, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at her home.
Private family graveside services took place on Friday, Feb. 10, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at Salem, OR.
Rich was born one of four children to Ted and Thelma (Stauffer) Wells on Aug. 16, 1933, at Blue Springs.
On Nov. 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to Ken Rich of Gothenburg, at Kearney. To this union, six children were born.
She and her family moved west in 1953 to Willamina. Besides being a homemaker, she was employed with the service industry, and worked for the Willamina School District as a cook for 22 years. She baked the best homemade rolls and cinnamon rolls, according to family members.
Rich was a member of the Willamina Civic Club and the Good Cheer Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and had a passion for animals and loved to garden, said family members.
Rich was preceded in death by: two sons—Ronald Rich in September of 1996, and Darold Rich in January of 2001.
Survivors include: her husband of 63 years, Ken; daughters—Carole Crites of Sheridan and Connie Milton of McMinnville; sons—Rodney Rich and Duane Rich of Sheridan; two brothers—Jack Wells of Willamina and Derry Wells of Grants Pass; a sister, Beverly Youngs of Kelso, WA; brothers-in-law—Allen Rich of Gothenburg and Robert Rich of Salem; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Humane Society and the Alzheimer’s Association.
