Kathleen Gaboury, 74 - March 13, 2013Kathleen Mary (Breitzmann) Gaboury, 74, formerly of Gothenburg, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Fullerton.
Services will take place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Don O’Brien officiating. Burial will be at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
A visitation will be conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg on Sunday, March 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. with family present.
Gaboury was born June 26, 1938, at Superior, WI, daughter of Rudolph, Sr. and Rosa (O’Connell) Breitzmann.
She grew up in Superior, Pontiac, MI, and Duluth, MN, graduating from St. Jean-Baptiste High School in Duluth with the Class of 1956.
Gaboury was married in Duluth, and was the mother of four children.
She lived in many other places including St, Louis Park, MN, and Rapid City, SD. In Nebraska, she resided at Gothenburg, North Platte, Kearney, Grand Island, Lincoln and Fullerton.
Gaboury was employed as a police dispatcher for Gothenburg Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, according to family members.
Gaboury was preceded in death by: her parents, Rudolph, Sr. and Rosa; brother, Rudolph Breitzmann, Jr.; a son, Douglas Anthony Gaboury.
Survivors include: her two daughters—Debra (Daniel) Metzger of Cozad and Lorraine (Rex) Messersmith of McCook; her son, Paul (Paulet) Gaboury of McCook; sister-in-law, Anita Breitzmann of Zimmerman, MN; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorials are suggested to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
