Relocating GMH offices a challenge during construction

A third of hospital employees temporarily moved.

Ten times a day, dietary employees push carts to and from Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.

Until the department moves into a part of a new wellness center yet to be built, staff will continue to operate from a kitchen in the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church Parish Hall.

Hospital laundry is taken to Howard Johnson hotel where it’s washed, dried and trucked back to GMH.

The changes are necessary while GMH is in the midst of a $29.5 million expansion project.

On March 14, one third (about 50 of the 120 full-time hospital workers) in the southwest quadrant of the building moved into temporary offices.
