Special use permit request by church pending

Council wants to address concerns.

A nearly full Gothenburg City Council chamber indicated both concern and support for the construction of a new church at 2302 Ave. M.

After about an hour-long public hearing on May 17, which included The Crossing Fellowship church members and engineer Brent Burkland of TC Engineering of North Platte speaking about the project, city council members decided to leave the hearing open to address the concerns of neighbors.

Church members seek a special use permit to build the church in a residentially zoned area.
