Gothenburg youth win essay contest

When Tucker Wyatt was little, if his parents couldn’t find the toddler, they knew where to look first.

“He was always wanting to go ‘out-tide’,” said his mom Charity Wyatt, noting that he’d escape to the backyard any chance he got.

Fast forward more than a dozen years and the Gothenburg freshman still prefers the Nebraska outdoors to just about anything.

That enthusiasm for hunting, fishing, boating and swimming—and his writing about it—recently earned him a kayak.
