Police still searching for holiday light vandal

Although there have been no more reported cases of damage to outdoor holiday lights, decorations and displays since Dec. 7, Gothenburg police have not found who was responsible.

From Dec. 4-7, at least a dozen residents called the police department to report damaged or stolen lights and decorations throughout the city.

Police officials said estimated damage ranges from $50 to several hundred dollars per incident.

Anyone with information about the criminal mischief is encouraged to call the police department at 537-3608 or contact Dawson County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-652-7383, at www.dawsoncountycrimestoppers.com or by sending a text tip beginning with “tip70” and sent to “CRIMES.”

Crime Stoppers asks for information about crimes, not names.

A reward of up to $1,000 will be paid after law enforcement agencies have determined the seriousness of the crime and the usefulness of the information.
