Summer lunch program comes to Brady

On Monday, June 5, a new era will begin in the community of Brady. A summer lunch program will provide meals for children at the school cafeteria, served Monday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. There will be no lunch offered on the fourth of July.

Tisha Hood, the Food Service Manager for Brady Public Schools, became aware of a grant available to provide a summer lunch program. “I was doing my paperwork and I’d seen there was a grant that was available to initiate a summer lunch program. I applied and thankfully we were awarded,” said Hood. “We were awarded $8,900.

This program will target every child 18 and under. They can come and eat for free.
