Lucile C. Wahl Anderson, 89, of Gothenburg, formerly of Cozad and Eustis, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at the Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the American Lutheran Church of Cozad with the Rev. Terry Pool officiating. A private inurnment will take place at the East Cemetery at Eustis.
Anderson was the first child born to Otto and Sophie (Yeutter) Bartruff in a farmhouse north of Eustis on Dec. 1, 1918.
Anderson was preceded in death by: her parents, Otto and Sophie; her first husband, Lorenz Wahl; her second husband, Harland; her stepmother and closest farm neighbor, Urcel Bartruff; granddaughter, Amelia Cathryn Rupe; two brothers—Junior and Lloyd; stepsister, Patricia (Marvin) Taylor.
Survivors include: her daughters—Cathryn (Randall) Rupe of Eustis and Lois (Matthew) Stebbins of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren—Graham (Katie) Rupe of Omaha, Adriane Stebbins (Jeremiah Jackson) of Newport, RI, Eton Stebbins (girlfriend, Vanya Dafklova), both students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; and Wyatt Stebbins, who currently engages in missionary trip guiding for young people in Costa Rica and Ecuador; great-grandson, George Rupe and future grandson due to be born in April; two brothers—Vern Bartruff and Robert (Evelyn) Bartruff, all of Eustis; four sisters—Doris (Robert) Hotchkiss of Fergus Falls, MN, Betty Rieker of Farnam, Marjory (Kenneth) Kugler of Johnson Lake and Diane (Danny) Easterday of Eustis; sister-in-law, Karen Wahl of Elwood; brother-in-law, Edwin Wahl of Lincoln; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
