Delegates named for Boys, Girls State
Egenberger, Thornsberry get nomination

April 05, 2008
Brady High School juniors Isaac Egenberger and Katherine Thornsberry have been chosen as delegates to the 2008 Cornhusker Boys and Girls State.
Boys State and Girls State are nationwide programs sponsored by the local American Legion and Legion Auxiliary. Since Brady does not have a Legion program, the Brady Lions Club cooperates with the Gothenburg Legion groups to select delegates.
Each year, more than 400 girls and boys from throughout the state are offered an opportunity to be active participants in structured role-playing that emphasizes our democratic form of government.
The selection process is difficult with only the most qualified high school juniors being selected to participate.
The Lions Club selected students who have demonstrated an interest in learning government and are leaders in their high schools.
Both Cornhusker Girls State and Boys State will be at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln June 1-7.
Brady alternates are D.J. Pedersen and Tiffany Hoaglund.
