Carlyle Williams, 92, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on February 26, 2021.
He was born in Nebraska in 1928 to Wilford Festus and Mary Alice Williams. Carlyle was raised in Grand Island and graduated from Hastings College. In 1949, he married Martha May Janssen at the First Presbyterian Church in Gothenburg. He was an officer in the Marine Corps before returning to Nebraska. Carlyle taught high school and coached on the 1962 state champion Swede basketball team. He later joined father-in-law Richard Janssen in business in Gothenburg. Carlyle moved the John Deere business to Willow Island in 1973 and later bought into the John Deere business at Lexington. He retired to Placerville, CA. and in 1990 Carlyle and Marty moved to Fort Collins to be near Mark and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha May Williams and brothers, Harold and Morrie Williams. He is survived by sons Steven Williams and wife, Linda, of Stilwell, KS, Mark Williams and wife, Janelle, of Fort Collins, CO, grandsons Skyler Williams and wife, Kristin, of Golden, CO, Spencer Williams and Benjamin Williams of Fort Collins, CO, great-grandchildren, Nellie and Jack Williams of Golden, CO and sister Rosemary Grant of Fort Collins, CO.
