Charleen Anderson, 85 of Kearney passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Charleen Fae Shultz was born July 8, 1934 in Grand Island, NE to Charles Shultz and Nell (Zimmerman) Shultz. She grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School.
She married Stanley Anderson and together the couple had five children. Charleen spent much of her young adult life taking care of her five children in Brady, NE. She worked as a dispatcher for the Gothenburg Police Department. She later moved to Kearney where she was employed by Good Samaritan Hospital and worked in the accounting department. She was so proud to work there and always spoke so highly of her employers. Later on in life, she lived at Autumn village and made many friends there. She loved to share her home-made goodies with everyone and helped anyone she could. She absolutely loved decorating her apartment. She loved her fall colors and decorated beautifully at Christmas time.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen Ussery and her husband, Marty of Shelton, NE, Kathy Bullock and her husband, Cort of Gothenburg, NE, Koleen Fruhling and her husband, Jeff of Cedar Bluffs, NE, and Michael Anderson and his wife, Mary of Gibbon, NE; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; sister, Jeannie Craig and her husband, Bruce of Bellevue, NE; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Anderson; son, Victor Alvarez-Anderson; grandchildren, Stacy Lee Miller and Victor Jr. Alvarez; her parents; siblings, Ronald Shultz, Jerry Shultz, Scotty Shultz, Wanda Bruegemann, and her identical twin sister Charlotte Shultz.
