Rex Charles Pressler passed away at 68 years old at Phoenix, AZ on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home.

Rex was born on April 17, 1954, in Grand Island, NE, the son of Roy Charles and Phyllis Lorene (Helzer)

Pressler. On July 6,1991, he married Cindy Marie Kleindorfer in Phoenix, AZ.

Rex graduated from North Platte High School in 1972, where he was a multi-sport athlete and a trumpet player in the marching band. To further his education, he enrolled in Mid Plains Junior College in North Platte, NE where he was on the basketball team before transferring to Wayne State College on a basketball athletic scholarship. Rex graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wayne State College in 1976.

After college, he started working in banking in Lincoln, NE. While living in Lincoln, his first daughter, Anna Leigh Pressler, was born from a previous marriage.

He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1988. On July 6, 1991, he married his wife Cindy Marie Kleindorfer and from that marriage, two children were born; Courtney Marie and Ryan Charles Pressler.

Rex worked in retirement and estate planning for over 45 years. After working in many financial planning offices, he started his own business known as Pressler’s Retirement and Estate Planning. Throughout his career, he made many great professional relationships that he cherished. It was extremely rewarding for him to help and support his clients throughout the years.

Rex was a huge sports fan. He loved the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers and loved cheering for them on “Football Saturdays” where the whole house was required to wear red. His friends from high school and college traveled to Husker games for over 25 years in a row, known amongst themselves as the Pro-Leisure Tour. Rex enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father, brothers, and friends. When Rex moved to Phoenix he became a huge Phoenix Suns fan and was a partial or full season ticket holder for 20 years.

Those left to cherish Rex’s memory are his wife, Cindy Pressler, his children Anna Pressler of Lincoln, NE, Courtney (James) Burkhardt of Phoenix, AZ, Ryan Pressler of Phoenix, AZ. His brothers Dale (Susan) Pressler of Dallas, TX and Bob (Lou Ann) Pressler of Fort Worth, TX. His two grandchildren Colton Rex Burkhardt and Penelope Arlene Burkhardt and many other family, friends, and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship is being set up in his name at Mid Plains Community College (North Platte). Our goal is to create a permanent annual scholarship.

Funeral Services will be held at Grace Bible Church of Phoenix, 19835 N 12th Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85024. Services will be on July 2, 2022 at 11:00 am.
