Zella Mae Sanders, 90, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died November 14, 2020 at Stone Hearth Estates, Gothenburg, NE.

Zella Mae was born on April 1, 1930 to William and Margaret (Fox) Wilson near Moorefield, NE. Zella Mae grew up on the family farm south of Moorefield and attended Boston Ridge Country School near the family farm until 8th grade.

She resided on the family farm in Moorefield, NE. She married Kenneth E. Sanders on March 3, 1948 in North Platte, NE. Zella Mae and Kenneth lived on the family farm until they moved to Gothenburg, NE.

Zella Mae loved the outdoors and working by Kenneth’s side through the years. She loved her flowers and always attending to them. Zella Mae loved her Bible studies through the years. Walking was always one of her favorite past times. She and Kenneth loved to travel and enjoyed going square dancing. She was very involved in her church, worked with the children at Awanas as long as health would let her and MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) was always a favorite of hers.

Zella Mae was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church, (formerly Gothenburg Evangelical Free Church) for many years.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.

Zella Mae was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Earl Sanders, sister, Ruby Hanes, father, William Wilson, mother, Margaret Wilson, four Brothers, Elmer, Homer, Lee, Delbert and one infant sister Luella Wilson.

Visitation was held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Private family funeral will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, November 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Newman officiating, and will be Live Streamed for the Public on the Cornerstone Bible Church Gothenburg You-Tube Page.

Public Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the the Moorefield Cemetery, Moorefield, NE.
