GRAND ISLAND — The Nebraska State Fair Board voted to hold a 2020 State Fair showcasing 4-H and FFA competitions and exhibitions. While the Fair will look different than it has in the past, providing an opportunity for young people to showcase the work they have been doing throughout the year as it is important to the State Fair and to the future of our state. The 2020 State Fair will include 4-H and FFA livestock competitions, contests, presentations, and static exhibits.

Lawn Mowing Just Got Easier At The Senior Center

AND SHE’S OFF!: Gothenburg Senior Center Director Susan Anderson was so excited to have been gifted a riding lawn mower on behalf of the center, she sped off to mow and no one could catch her! Raelynn Maxwell of Cottonwood Realty purchased the mower and Matt Farr of LandMark serviced the mighty machine so it was ready to go for the new users. The Gothenburg Sr. Melons watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-2 loss to Cozad on Friday evening. Cozad took the lead on a walk in the second inning.


Jackson Michael Wehtje

A son, Jackson Michael Wehtje was born June 22 at Gothenburg Health to Keisha and Stephan Wehtje of Gothenburg. He weighed 7 pounds, 5.5 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long. Grandparents are Jenny and Toby Wehtje of Gothenburg, Rebecca Meredith of Gothenburg and Josh Blake of Cozad. Great-grandparents are Deb and Dennis Meredith of Gothenburg and Carol and Doug Hellbusch of Fullerton.
