‘Those dang roosters!’

“I’ve had a lot of happy days, watching you kids grow up and show cattle.” shared my Papa, Kent Schlake, as he sat in his chair eating his brownie and whipped cream. I love the fact that my papa has always had a sweet tooth. There are countless times where if my family wanted papa to do something, it would be after he finished whatever grandma Nadine made for dessert since the counter is always full of pans and bowls of homemade desserts.

Swede Volleyball Running Post Season Play

It was a long night of volleyball for the Swedes as they faced off against Ainsworth on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Gothenburg showed some exceptional resilience after dropping the first two sets 25-23 and 25-13. Instead of lying down and conceding defeat, the Swedes flipped the script to win the next two sets 25-23 and 25-18 to force an overtime match to 15. Unfortunately for the Swedes, the comeback victory fell just out of reach as Amherst stole the last set 15-10.
