The schedule gets really busy for the Lexington, Cozad and Gothneburg golfers during the Spring season and it pushes them to get better and better during the stretch run that includes conference play and the postseason, after they complete the battle for bragging rights at the Dawson County Championships that were held at Lakeside Country Club south of Lexington.

The Gothenburg Trap Team wrapped up its 2022 season at the Cornhusker State Trap Shoot April 29- 30 in Doniphan. The event, the largest youth shoot of its kind in the nation, boasted 935 junior shooters, the second highest total in the event’s history, and just over 1,500 senior shooters. This year’s Cornhusker Cup, the top award, went to Mason Gerdes from Raymond Central with a 136/175 score.

LEX, COZAD & GBURG PROSPER AT BADER TRACK INVITATIONAL

The track and field enthusiasts came from far and wide across central Nebraska to see some of the best compete at the Don Bader Invitational held at Ray Ehlers Stadium in Lexington in front of a large crowd on Friday afternoon and early evening.

Going toe-to-toe with some of the best tracksters that southwest Nebraska has was a challenge that the Hi-Line standouts took in stride while competing in the Jim Mather Invitational that was held in Arapahoe on Wednesday.

GBURG SHARPSHOOTERS FINISH UP CONFERENCE

The Gothenburg Trap Team competed at their last conference shoot Saturday, April 16, in Doniphan. 144 Junior and 208 Senior shooters took to the lines for the final show down of the regular season.
