Vaulters Led Swedes At Moore Invite

Making the best of the Spring-like weather, the Gothenburg and Cozad girls and boys track squads stood strong while competing at the Ed Moore Invitational held in Ogallala on Thursday morning and afternoon.

The Gothenburg track and field squads got a chance to compete against some of the best that western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming have to offer while participating in the John Ganser Invitational held at Weymouth Field in Sidney on Saturday.

Getting the chance to defend their home turf, the Swedes were up to the challenge, as they did their best to tame the Wild Horse during a links showdown with Broken Bow on Thursday afternoon at Wild Horse Golf Course north of Gothenburg.

It has over a year since the Gothenburg Spring Sports athletes and teams have been able to showcase their skills and talents. The 2021 high school sports campaign have been trying at times, but we are now here and nearly through the full schedule of activities for the 2021 school year.

The 2nd Mid-Nebraska Conference Trap Shoot took place in Doniphan on Saturday, March 20th. Shooters were welcomed with warmer temperatures peaking just over 60 degrees for the day. Winds blew consistently from the south with 25-35 mph gusts, providing yet another challenge for the clay breakers.
