Roe, Simmons sign with state schools

BRADY — Two Brady High School football players on Thursday, Feb. 20 announced their intentions to further their careers on the collegiate level.

T.J. Roe, who played quarterback and safety for the Eagles, has opted to play at Chadron State College.

NORTH PLATTE — The Brady High School boys’ basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 56-38 loss to Wallace on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in a Class D2, Subdistrict 10 semifinal at McDaid Elementary School.

Gothenburg 6th-grade boys earn another title

THE GOTHENBURG SIXTH-GRADE BOYS’ BASKETBALL travel team earned another tournament championship — this time on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Mr. Basketball Blowout in Kearney. Gothenburg defeated the Kearney Roadrunners, Lincoln Bulls and a team from Boone Central. Here’s the group.

Gothenburg native Streeter receives call for NSWCA HoF

OMAHA — Former Gothenburg High School wrestler Carl Streeter is set for induction as part of the Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2020.

Streeter will be inducted as one of two officials to be enshrined — along with Greg Senkbile of Central City.

BRADY — Ten Gothenburg High School seniors played in their final scholastic boys’ basketball game on Thursday evening in the Class C, Subdistrict 11 final.

Chase County’s guardoriented attack proved too much for Gothenburg as the Longhorns topped the Swedes 50-40 at Brady High School.
